"We just spent a fabulous week at Clos de la Bodice.
It easily accommodated 16 of us (10 adults, 6 children aged 8 - 15) without it feeling cramped. We were all able to eat together - either round the covered table outside or the round table inside.
The facilities are excellent. The pool was heated and both a magnet for the kids and great for playing games. The jacuzzi was bigger than most I've seen (even in the spa hotels) and ideal to either soak listening to music or watch films. The sporting facilities were also excellent - table tennis was particularly popular (and ideal for a big game of round the table - as we'd brought extra bats). There were also plenty of loungers for sunbathing.
In fact, it was so pleasant to stay at the house that it was tempting not to go out and explore the sites of the Loire valley. However, there are numerous interesting places to see just a short distance away. Several of these could have been reached by bike and there were many great local bike trails and a large number of bikes to choose from (complete with helmets).
Philippe was extremely welcoming and easygoing. He allowed us to bring a caravan with 4 extra people for no charge. Also, when we phoned to ask if we could exceed the max number of people in the house, he told us he was expanding the upstairs and increasing the number of beds. And true to his word, he had done this (and didn't want any extra money). He also just shrugged when we told him we'd broken a couple of glasses.
Excellent place and excellent owner. Would be keen to stay there again."

"We couldn’t have dreamt of a more idyllic place to celebrate our 50th marriage anniversary. The interior is so properly arranged, beautifully decorated and comfy with the large round table and the spa… not to speak of the garden that could deserve the same emphasis in this beautiful and quiet countryside.
To savor une coupe de champagne in the spa will remain in our memories as a unique experience.
We forward Mr. Villemade with our warmest congratulations for his accomplishment in the construction/setting of the Clos and our gratefulness for his warm welcome and his discreet presence. We will be very pleased to come back."

"Stunning family Week End for the birthday of my 2 daughters. Everything was outstanding, Very nice and practical cottage beautifully arranged. Unique, magical experience in the Jacuzzi.
Unfortunately, the weather was so fine that we (the 14 of us) had all our meals in the outdoor salon and couldn’t celebrate at the magnificent round table of the main room.
Hence we hope to comeback this winter !"

"Warmest welcome from the owner, the cottage is spotless and adapted for a group of disabled people (no wheelchair bound). Friendly garden both visually and functionally especially for outdoor meal and entertainment. With the spa, the relaxation is guaranteed. The neighborhood is quite interesting, Chaumont sur Loire castle should not be missed.
Thousand blessing to Philippe who could welcome us with no prejudice and a very warm feeling. We were all very touched."
